Saving energy is easy with Z-Wave,
because you can set up your system to accomplish multiple
energy-saving “events” automatically.
For
example, one button for the upstairs bedroom not only turns
off the bedroom lights – but also the lights throughout
the rest of the house. You can have lights that turn
on or off, or dim themselves depending on the on/off status
of other Z-Wave lights and devices. So if you turn
off the house lights when you leave for work, that those
lighs can raise or lower their illumination depending on
the house temperature. This comes thanks to a Z-Wave
thermostat like Wayne Dalton’s that can turn itself
down to a pre-determined, energy-saving setting and sets
home lights accordingly.

You can also combine your energy-saving lighting
control with other Z-Wave tasks within your Z-Wave network.
Add security to your home by having your exterior lights
turn on or off from indoors from a controller or via commands
from another light, with a GE outdoor lighting module. Have
your lights come on when a Z-Wave motion detector is triggered,
and have those lights send you an alert to your Z-Wave remote
monitoring system.
