The Best Plan is the One You Don't Need

The expandable nature of the Z-Wave mesh network system lets you build around each bit of Z-Wave control that you add to your home.  This means you don’t have to do as much pre-planning as you would with a conventional home control system.  Any Z-Wave device can send or receive commands from other Z-Wave devices, which leaves you the flexibility to add one kind of control now, and more or different ones later.

Because Z-Wave works through walls, floors and ceilings – up to 90 feet of range indoors and up to 300 feet outdoors -- your placement options for Z-Wave control throughout the home are nearly unlimited.  Z-Wave intelligently routes itself around any obstacles that might block its commands, and because Z-Wave works on a different frequency than other wireless home electronics, it doesn’t experience any interference from things like cordless phones and Wi-Fi enabled devices.

Whether your home automation plans are big or small, simple or complex, Z-Wave is the easiest and most accessible way to achieve them. You don’t have to think about the technology so much as what you want to accomplish.  Chances are that if you can imagine it, you can adapt Z-Wave to it.
