Planning Your Installation

It’s easy to make any or all of your home remote controllable with Z-Wave. This powerful yet lightweight wireless technology is easily added to almost anything electronic, such as lights, appliances, home entertainment components, security systems and much more. The applications for Z-Wave in the home are almost endless, and you can do it all yourself, without costly hardware or professional installation. So how do you get started?

You can use different types of GE Jasco Z-Wave light modules for each specific goal

What Would You Like To Z-Wave?
The best way to plan a Z-Wave installation is to simply imagine what part or parts of your home you’d like to control, and which ways you’d like to control them.

Let’s take lighting as an example. What type of lights do you want under control? If it’s a plug-in fixture, then a simple lamp module is the solution, but if it’s overhead lighting, you’ll want a wall-mounted Z-Wave dimmer instead. Or maybe you’d like an entire AC outlet to be Z-Wave controllable, so you can control a lamp and maybe another device plugged into the outlet, like an air purifier or a digital picture frame. With GE Jasco’s Z-Wave lighting modules, you’ve got flexibility.
